Thought i'd make a beginners guide as there is a bit of junk to know. This might not mean much now but hopefully allow you to understand whats happening a bit quicker. (Feel free to add as you fnd out stuff)
The main idea of the game is you enter an 'Action District' either called Finacial or Waterfront. And do jobs for contacts to build your reputation allowing you to unlock cooler guns/cars etc.
There are 2 factions to the game. Preatorians and Prentiss Tigers.
Each faction has a number of contacts on each district. You can pledge yourself to one contact so you only get work for one facton, or just take the jobs as they come in. The more you do with one contact the high level you get with that person (Max 6) and also the high level you get with that faction (Max 40) and again the higher the level to cooler shit you get to play with.
Two type of jobs.
1) Standerd job, which could range from investigating something, raiding someones house, returning a stolen car. 2) All Points Bulletins (APBs) These are just you and your team going out and killing/arresting the criminals.
Whilst you are on a standerd job a few criminals can come to stop you turing it into an APB. If you are out numbered you can call for backup to even the sides. And same the other way round you can respond to a call for backup.
And lastly you can 'witness' crimes by looking at a criminal with handcuffs next to his name and press ctrl. This will log him/her commiting a crime and you could get a APB to stop him. But you will get $5 for witnessing it anyways!!
For a beginner this game is hard work on your own. But remember even if you lose and don't kill anyone you still get reputation and money.
The next thing is all the different types of ranks.
1) Threat Level. This is a symbol by your name the higher the level just means the more effective you are at killing/arresting people. This can go up and down depending on how well your doing at that moment. This does not stop you unlocking stuff.
2) Reputaion Level. This is on your character screens when you buy stuff. There higher the R rating basically the longer you have been playing the game. And the effects what stuff you can buy. (This would be you standered 'level' i suppose')
3) Faction Levels. As mentioned above you can be level 12 with the Prentiss Tigers and level 5 with Violet Prentiss (Contact). And again effects the stuff you can buy/unlock.
if you put it like that it really sounds like a multiplayer GTA, still sux the price difference is so huge Image: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l165/Sniper_Haven/Dafe.png Image: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l165/Sniper_Haven/Dafe-Sig.png
