right. to clear this up. beany just explained on vent. Basically go to your EA sports folder. Get you Battlefeild Bad Company 2 folder and RENAME it to BF2.....
how ever, you have to lunch it FROM YOUR NEW BF2 folder !!! this should clear up any white screen problems as nVidia and ATI graphics cards have BF2 specific drivers. Before trying this i suggest you update your grahpics drivers. As it says in the link, the rename is to use graphics settings from another game. But i updated mine on monday night and it didnt work Cheaked again tuesday night.....there was another update and now it works. I haven't had white screen error, and I average a good 50+ FPS at 1024x768 and Medium Gfx settings. But the graphics don't look very good, they seem a bit washed out...like the brightness and contrast is too high....anyone else noticed that? The brightness is probably due to the snow levels or the fact your in a desert....which is hot....and bright...
But no i aint noticed, but then im used to COD4 being a bit bright on my cfg. Also the brightness in the scope is the blurr effect...which is annoying!
Washed out and too bright - seems to be a common complaint on the forums, apparently it's a "feature" of the advanced lighting engine. When you're indoors it's ok but when you run outside it's all too bright and hurts your eyes - particularly in snow and dessert settings.I also have a corrupted scoreboard with column titles overlapping each other....playing with different resolution settings hasn't fixed this.On a positive note I played for about 45 mins last night and had no connection issues at all! pings could have been better but it was perfectly playable. Takes me back to my BF 1942 days.After all that, and being top of the scoreboard...I'm still Level 1...so progress seems slow. yeh the first assault weopon is crap but the second one is much better, you will level up a bit quicker with that. also if you get medi kit and ammo packs i think its wise to keep chucking them as that will help you level up quicker too. I haven't got my Joystick working with it yet...not had much change to though...I'd only use it for aircraft....I did jump into a heli but couldn't get it to work with stick at all.
